Off and on we Pakistanis discuss the right name for the province that the British inconveniently named North West Frontier Province or NWFP. Meanwhile, St. Francis School of Excellence, Murree, has put up an ad for 2008 admissions and have conveniently named it, on their own, Pakhtunistan.

  1. Humayun says:

Such “missionary” institutions obviously have their missions laid out for them. They have their agenda and they pursue those. It’s nothing new. It might sound like paranoia or cynicism, but such practices date back to the days of East India Company.

On our part, on such provocations rather than reacting emotionally and violently we should calmly and persistently work to dissuade these forces, keeping in mind that this will be an ongoing struggle.
